LGBT Forum Progress does not want to participate in politicization of public announcements of church leaders in Montenegro. Metropolitan Amfilohije is spiritual leader of a significant number of believing citizens, regardless of their sexual orientation, and thus he is the object of our respect and special attention.LGBT Forum Progres ne želi učestvovati u politizaciji javnih istupa vjerskih lidera u Crnoj Gori. Mitropolit g.
Right to freedom of assembly and expression is constitutionally guaranteed right. Montenegro is a secular State that protects and promotes human rights and this fact can’t changed by any religious authority.
Question of minority that was pointed out by Metropolitan is relative issue. Some individual, was he/she even priest, in different situations may belong to the majority or the minority when considering his nationality, religion, sexual orientation and gender identity, disability or any other personal characteristic.
LGBT Forum Progress considers that public announcements of any minority group can’t be seen as any kind of violence. It is not an act of violence assembly of Orthodox minority in Rožaje, freedom of religion of the Muslim minority in Tivat, gathering of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Niksic and Danilovgrad, or gathering of Serbs in Cetinje or Albanians in Berane. So the visibility of LGBT people is not violence towards anyone.
All citizens of Montenegro, no matter with whom they are in service, are obliged to respect the regulations and institutions ensuring the rule of law and hold accountable anyone who violates the laws of Montenegro, and denies freedom to others.
LGBT Forum Progress believe in dialogue with all societal subjects, and so the delegation of the Organization will try to meet with His Excellency Metropolitan Mr. Amfilohije.
Amfilohija
