LGBT Forum Progres informs the public that the implementation of the project „Capacity building of youth workers in working with LGBT + people.“began.
The project is supported by the „Erasmus +“ Programme of the European Union dedicated to education, vocational training, youth and sport.
The project „Capacity building of youth workers in working with LGBT + people“ is implemented by the Rainbow Association of Serbia, while partners are NGOs from the region: LGBT Forum Progress from Montenegro, the Association for Civil Society Development Bonsai from Croatia, Subversive Front of Macedonia, Independent institution for protection of human rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project aims to increase the knowledge and skills of youth workers for adequate access to work and support LGBT + people in order to have a positive impact on the solution of the problems of the LGBTIQ population at the regional level. A total number of 30 youth workers, 6 for each country’s partners in the project, will participate on a specially designed training in Serbia in order to access the non-formal education to improve their capacity to work with LGBT + people, with special emphasis on LGBT + adolescents and young people.
LGBT Forum Progres strongly believes that the project represents a quality and timely response to the rise of hate violence and discrimination against LGBT youth as well as the shortcomings of the youth workers in their approach to this topic, and will be fully dedicated to its quality and successful implementation.
